- Academic integrity is a matter uProdigy takes very seriously. As a business, and as members of the academic community, the ethical use of our site by tutors and students alike is of paramount importance to uProdigy; we will take swift and severe action against any individual who chooses to abuse our online marketplace by facilitating or soliciting cheating. We will in no way tolerate any cheating or plagiarism through the use of our website, whether it is attempted by tutors or students.
- All communications between students and tutors via this website will be recorded, logged, and systematically reviewed to ensure that the academic integrity of uProdigy, its tutors, and its student customers are safeguarded.
- It is the responsibility of tutors and student customers to be aware of our Academic Integrity Statement. Merely citing ignorance to our policy will never be accepted as a valid defense to accusations of cheating or plagiarism using this site.
- Tutors found to have knowingly provided, or to have attempted to provide academic “help” that constitutes a violation of our Academic Integrity Statement will be banned from using our online marketplace, and they will no longer be welcome at uProdigy.
- Students found to have knowingly solicited or received academic “help” that constitutes a violation of our Academic Integrity Statement will be banned from our online marketplace, and they will no longer be welcome at uProdigy.
- In cases of suspected plagiarism or cheating, students and tutors will be given adequate due process according to the stipulations of uProdigy’s Academic Integrity Statement. However, this will include a grace period of 10 days in which they must reply to the allegation of violating our Academic Integrity Statement, and convince our staff they have not violated our policies. Failure to reply within this time period will be considered an admission of guilt, and they will be sanctioned accordingly.
- In some instances, plagiarism or cheating can be a subtle issue. uProdigy reserves the right to review, investigate, and rule on any instances of suspected cheating or plagiarism. In cases where cheating or plagiarism is disputed by either a tutor or a student, uProdigy will allow said party to explain themselves and provide germane information in their defense, within the time period allotted under our policy.
- Our staff will review each case on their individual merit and interpret the academic policy accordingly. The ultimate decision as to whether the student customer and/or tutor have violated uProdigy’s Academic Integrity Statement is always at the sole discretion of uProdigy or its agents.
